ABOUT
I have always been driven to create. In grade school I made jewelry from twisted phone wire, beads and resistors. I taught myself how to make soldered silver jewelry in high school. In college I tried to study engineering, but found myself drawn toward more tangible endeavors. After learning to weld in sculpture class, I was hooked on metal. I earned a BFA in metalsmithing from SUNY Brockport and apprenticed under Thomas R. Markusen. Despite the various detours that life has brought, I am constantly drawn back into the studio. It is the act of creation that gives my life a joyful purpose. The heat of the forge and blow of the hammer allow metal to be drawn into thin lines and supple curves, yet it retains great strength and a sense of permanence.
I approach my work with focus and dedication, and truly enjoy learning new techniques. I am honored to have been selected to be a Roycroft-at-Large association artisan.
After years of production work, I have begun transitioning to limited run and one of a kind pieces. I will gladly work with you to make your custom designs come to life.
